MARA'S CAMP is a private campsite for one group only, it can accommodate one to ten families from the same group. Situated in the middle of the farm in a beautiful thick woodland with lovely tall trees. This camp is also unfenced and wonderfully wild, but with all the luxury of two lovely family bathrooms with endless hot water and proper flush toilets.
With birds flitting round in the trees, curious game in and around the campsite. Mara's Camp is a very special place.
The campsite is totally eco friendly, with minimal impact on the environment. All natural materials have been used so the campsite blends in perfectly to the surrounding woodland. There is no power, but gas geysers supply hot water to both the family bathrooms.
A large fireplace and braai grid is situated in the middle of the campsite, which has many big shady trees. It is a wonderful place to sit, round a roaring fire looking up at the stars, and enjoying the sounds of the bush.
Hard braai wood is available to purchase on the farm and can be delivered to your campsite.
Kibu hide, a wooden viewing deck built into a huge wild Syringa tree overlooks Zebra plain and small waterhole, it is situated just above the camp and a few minutes walk, it is a great place for morning tea and a rusk, or sipping on a sundowner.
The two outside bathrooms are very spacious, and stunningly designed around huge trees. The shower floors are large rocks with a concrete and pebble detail, Latte benches and hooks allow plenty of space to put belongings.
As there is no power at the Campsite, there are Led lanterns in each unit. Coloured bottle tops act as hot and cold tap markers, and a small wild indigenous garden around the showers add to the charm.
The washing up area is set into a group of small trees, and has cold water only, but a steel bucket is supplied to put round the fire to heat the washing water.
It looks up towards Zebra plains, and it is not uncommon to be standing there to find a herd of Eland or inquisitive Zebra watching you.
Magical memories are made at Mara's camp
